A lot of people already believe that getting enough protein on a vegan diet is impossible, that all vegans are protein deficient. First of all, no, vegans are not protein deficient, second, getting protein on a vegan diet is easy. Athletes of all kinds benefit from eating a plant based diet, especially bodybuilders and strength althletes. Consuming large amount of animal protein is really hard on the gut, the saturated fat and cholesterol is bad for the heart and brain. Then there are the hormones, antibiotics and other chemicals that are found in the flesh of factory farmed animal. Being a bodybuilder means that you have to eat a lot, packing on muscle requires a lot of calories. Being a vegan bodybuilder is no different in that respect. But, eating plants is so good for you that you will have more energy, you'll feel better when you eat, not full and bloated, but satisfied and happy. You'll sleep better, have clearer thinking and train better. Check out the post on Vegan Bodybuilding to find some bodybuilders that have done it the vegan way.
